The Archive (2020's Style) - Short Film
(Collaboration with Noah Boggan)
This was a fun class experiment in which I sought to contrast the styles of the 1920’s and 2020’s. We wrote a short script and filmed two versions, this being the second “2020’s” part. The joke is a bit hard to follow as this was really meant as an inside joke for our film professor, Steve Snediker, and a film he had directed. It was a fun joke for the class, and I hope the comedy here still works for those who don’t have all the context. While the “1920’s” version was more broad in style, referencing Chaplin, Keaton, and even a hint of German Expressionism, this part was a bit harder to make feel distinct. We tried to reference basic dialogue scenes you’d see in a typical film now, as well as a long oner in the vein of modern shows like “The Studio.”
